For quite some years I played in an amateur band. I made arrangements, directed and held a clarinet part. The music we played spanned from the theme of Petrouchka to blues arrangements. One time, some members of the band asked how would sound a contemporary piece composed with our instrumentation. The name of the band was : the sparrows. In 2013 I started a piece dedicated to the band. For multiple reasons it was only completed in 2019. I did not compose a typical fanfare music, but nonetheless, I preserved a "fanfare" feeling.
