As I have been playing the clarinet now for several years, it seemed quite natural for me to write a piece in which the clarinet had the role of soloist. The piece does not have the form of a traditional concerto and my goal was not to oppose soloist and orchestra. I rather attempted to write a piece in which the soloist is, basically, part of an entity, while letting from time to time, his voice emerge to the surface.
