The three pieces that are part of "Three pieces in form of an homage" are a modest homage, expressing all the esteem that I feel toward the composer Henri Dutilleux. Each piece uses material from three of his compositions. The fragments that I used were taken from a score or directly by ear.
The Music of Henri Dutilleux was always part of my musical journey. Depending on the period, I felt closer or more distant from his music, but never completely separated. I do not share his poetic quest in relation to the act of composing, but nevertheless, since these last years, I am capable to fully appreciate his orchestral compositions. In that sense I made an effort to find some more or less "evocative" titles.
The invention of his thematic developments and his sense of subtle balance in matter of orchestration are, as far as I am concerned, a source of inexhaustible delectation. I do not have, by far, the talent of Henri Dutilleux and in no case did I try to imitate him, otherwise, this homage would only be anecdotal. The chosen fragments were used has a starting point and then transformed with my own sensitivity, seeking, once in a while, to encounter him.
