The three pieces that are part of "Three periods in time" are an homage to the composer Toru Takemitsu. Each piece uses material from three of his compositions. The fragments that I used were taken from a score or directly by ear.
Even if I do not entirely adhere to it, I wanted to try to retrace the impressionistic essence that surrounds his last period. Under no circumstances did I try to imitate his music. The chosen fragments were used as a starting point to be transformed with my own sensitivity.
"Three periods in time" is a modest homage, to express all the consideration I feel toward Toru Takemitsu's great skills as orchestrator and composer.
