I didn't play the clarinet when I wrote these pieces for a friend, whom at that time, played the clarinet. I didn't have a very broad knowledge of the instrument. I tried to understand as best I could Michel's patient explanations concerning the clarinet, while I tried desperately to comprehend the definition of a transposing instrument. That is why the pieces were originally composed with my first instrument : the guitar. I was going to learn the clarinet only 9 years after, in 1992. As my comprehension of the instrument grew, I made several revisions. Fundamentally, the pieces did not change. Over the years I adapted the pieces, so they would become more specific to the clarinet.
